The Apartments
The transformation of the old plantation buildings resulted in 4 restored buildings and 2 beautiful pools. The Skipper's House, the South House and the Annex are situated in the "plantation yard" while the Orchard Apartment is located in the lower level of the original Plantation house. Our apartments each have their own unique charm, but they do not differ in the quality of finishings and furnishings. Each apartment is completely equipped with most household comforts you could require while away from home ~ a world away from the old plantation days.

The Orchard Apartment
Furnished in a pleasingly eclectic mix of modern and traditional mahogany furniture, some pieces of which are family heirlooms. Each of the three large bedrooms has a private en suite and walk-in closet. The master bathroom has a large soaker tub as well as a shower. A large covered dining area and patio lounge open off of the modern
kitchen, and the comfortable living room provides an indoor space to relax at the end of the day. As the ground floor apartment of the Plantation House this apartment was created from the original kitchen, baking room, laundry room and staff quarters of the plantation house.
The Skipper's House Top Floor Apartment
Affectionately known as the ‘Honeymoon Suite’, this apartment features a single king sized bedroom and generous his and hers closets. While relaxing in the luxurious spa tub which overlooks the private outdoor patio, the view to the agricultural pastures in the east can be enjoyed through a stand of mature mahogany trees. The TV room, with built in home office, also has a queen sized sofa bed for overnight guests. The east and west patios provide breath taking views of both the ocean and pool. Originally the plantation manager's residence, this apartment is steeped in history and showcases some beautiful original prints of the house.
The Skipper's House Ground Floor Apartment
This distinctive apartment provides views of the plantation’s grass pastures through a stand of mature mahogany trees and tropical foliage. The furnishings are a mix of modern and traditional, wicker and mahogany. From what was once the ground floorstorage area for the plantation manager's upstairs residence, this apartment is more spacious than one would expect. It houses two large master bedrooms, both with en suites and generous closet space. The open concept kitchen and dining rooms showcase some exposed overhead beams of the original building, which would have previously sailed across the Atlantic as ship's masts.
The South House Top Floor Apartment
Each bedroom in this luxury rental apartment walks out to a verandah or private balcony and includes an en suite, and ample closet space. Each of the rooms benefit from Sion Hill’s constant fresh breeze and the two west facing rooms are also air-conditioned. The apartment is furnished in timeless classic Barbadian mahogany pieces including an eight-seat plantation dining table. An antique mahogany desk will make checking an email or two a pleasure. The South House was built to mimic the Barbadian architectural design of the Skipper's House; historical elegance at its best with breathtaking vistas from every angle of the spacious covered verandah.
The South House Ground Floor Apartment
With the advantage of being on ground leve,l each bedroom’s private patio allows guests to step out into the lovely gardens and orchard
surrounding the house. En suite bathrooms and air-conditioning come standard in each of the king sized bedrooms. Furnished with modern wicker and rattan pieces intermingled with a few heritage mahogany accents. The South House which is at the south end of the property offers slightly more privacy, tucked in between mature banana and young citrus trees. The northern most bedroom can be sectioned off and the apartment rented as a 2 bedroom apartment and a 1 bedroom bedsit with a kitchenette.
The Boiling House - Studio Cottage
The Boiling House Studio cottage is situated on the property of the old plantation home and was once the site of the sugar boiling house for the plantation. The nearby pool is constructed from the water tank used to cool the boiled water before piping it back though to the sugar boiling house. In later years this building was used a s tractor garage before it fell to ruin and was refurbished as a ceramic studio then renovated into the lovely plantation, or farm style studio apartment it is now.
